DECK STAIN REMOVAL

ALGAE-LEAF STAINS
Use 6 oz. (3/4 cup) of TimberWash Wood Cleaner, per gallon of water. Dampen surface to be cleaned with water before application. Apply TimberWash solution with sprayer, brush or mop. Let stand 20 minutes. Scrub and then rinse well with a power washer.
TANNIN RUST STAINS
Use one part TimberBrite Wood Brightener to four parts water. Dampen surface to be cleaned with water before application. Apply TimberBrite solution with sprayer, brush, or mop. Let stand 15 minutes. Scrub and then rinse well with water.
GRILL GREASE
Use a strong household degreaser, liquid dish detergent, or an automotive degreaser; however, 100% stain removal is difficult.
MILDEW - MOLD - FUNGI
Use either TimberWash or TimberBrite for these stains, depending on the type of wood substrate. TimberWash should be used on pines and TimberBrite on redwoods and cedars.
MILL STAMPS
Mill Stamps cannot be removed with the use of solvents or cleaners. Sanding is the most effective means of removal.
PITCH-ROSIN-PINE TAR-SAP
First, scrape excess material from the wood using a putty knife or steel wool, then use turpentine to remove the rest of the stain. After cleaning, any darkened area can be lightened by using TimberBrite Wood Brightener.
PREVIOUS STAINS-WATER REPELLENTS (NOT PAINT)
Water repellents and wood stains, but not paints, can be removed with the use of TimberWash Wood Cleaner and a power washer. If a finish looks questionable, test with TimberWash before proceeding. Painted surfaces will need to be chemically stripped.

  DEFY OVERSPRAY OR SPLATTER
Use plastic sheathing, masking tape, drop cloths, cardboard, etc. to protect against drips, splatters, and overspray. Overspray that is still wet can be cleaned with soap and water. Overspray, if allowed to dry, may be very difficult to remove.

  LAP MARKS, DRIPS, RUNS
Wet an abrasive pad with product and blend marks into surrounding surface before product dries.
